Stella is a humanistic sans serif with moderate contrast for text settings. It was originally designed as the main text typeface for the magazine Surf Portugal.
The concept of simplicity lies at its core. Stella capitals have classical proportions, and the lowercase has a generous and rather condensed x-height. Opposite to many sans serif typefaces, the italics are not just a slanted version of the upright, but have some classical italic shapes and is narrower and slightly lighter in colour.
Stella is available in eight weights from Extralight to Heavy, with matching italics.
